The Millie Play School

Sign-up below for our guided playtimes & Summer Camp options for your children and enjoy our co-working space! The Millie Venue Co-working & Open-play is designed for those families in need of an extra hand while they work from their laptops or simply to sit to enjoy their coffees. We have a Montessori based play area and our Play-Guides will be here to entertain your children with story-times, crafts, wellness activities, and more.
This is a Monday to Friday open-play week from 9am to 12pm with scheduled learning activities.
**Please note these activities are for children aged 18 months to 6 years old. Parents must be present as this is not a drop-off facility.
Summer camps
Week One: Fairytale Week
Let your little ones' imaginations run wild as we dive into the enchanting world of fairytales!
Monday: Our journey begins with princesses and knights. Kids will craft name crowns and knight swords, create princess dresses and knight shields, and burn off some energy with a lively movement activity.
Tuesday: We’ll explore dragons and castles! Exciting activities include crafting our own castles, designing dragons, decorating dragon eggs, playing in a sensory bin, and coloring a collaborative castle for imaginative play.
Wednesday: It's all about fairies! Children will create little fairies, fairy wands, and fairy dust necklaces, and participate in Wellness Wednesday with fairy yoga!
Thursday: We’ll delve into famous fairy tales and their lessons. Your little ones will discover what makes a story a fairytale through story time featuring three classics, along with fine motor activities, sensory bins, and crafts inspired by each tale.
Friday: The week culminates with a focus on unicorns! Sassy the unicorn will visit, giving children the chance to pet a real unicorn! They’ll create their own unicorn terrariums and engage in fun activities like unicorn ring toss, lavender playdough, and unicorn-themed sensory bins.
Week Two: OuterSpace
Blast off into outer space with a week full of cosmic exploration!
Monday: We’ll kick off with an introduction to outer space, enjoying story time about the cosmos, discussing the sky, engaging in a movement activity, and crafting our very own space helmets to launch us into a week of space adventures!
Tuesday: Your little astronauts will learn about the planets in our solar system through story time, create beautiful planet necklaces, paint their own planets, and collaborate on a spaceship coloring project.
Wednesday: The moon takes center stage as we explore its phases through story time and a fun Oreo cookie activity. Kids will make their own moon rocks, create tactile paintings of the moon, and play with moon-themed sensory bins!
Thursday: We’ll journey through the galaxy, learning about stars, constellations, and asteroids. Kids will create star-filled sky paintings and enjoy sensory-driven crafts, along with an asteroid toss game.
Friday: Aspiring astronauts will conduct experiments, try astronaut food, dream about their ideal rocket supplies, and learn about the role of an astronaut in a guided story time!
Week Three: Tiny Campers Week
Experience the great outdoors right here at The Millie! Your little campers will explore the wildlife and environments of Northwest Ohio through engaging story time, hands-on activities, and creative arts and crafts.
Monday: We’ll discuss local parks and the animals that inhabit them. After story time, kids will create animal crafts and make bird feeders to enjoy some bird watching at home.
Tuesday: The focus will be on ponds and lakes. Children will learn about the characteristics of these bodies of water through story time, crafts depicting pond and lake creatures, and a fun hands-on fishing activity!
Wednesday: It’s Campers Craft Day! Little campers will enjoy tie-dye shirt making, campfire stories, bracelet crafting, and face painting.
Thursday: Building on Wednesday’s fun, we’ll focus on tent-making, faux campfire building, glow bug crafts, and making s'mores. Kids will have a blast playing in their tents!
Friday: We’ll wrap up with Indoor Relay Day! Little campers will team up for a series of relay races, including bean bag toss, an obstacle course, and balloon paddle toss. A coloring station will be available for some downtime, and every child will receive a lovely ribbon for their participation and fun!
